Skills

• 3–5 years hospital coding experience

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Medical Coding Trainer to deliver comprehensive training programs for both entry-level and experienced medical coders. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in medical coding standards and compliance, with the ability to prepare trainees for real-world roles in healthcare organizations and revenue cycle management (RCM) companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training on ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding across multiple medical specialties.
• Design and develop curriculum, training materials, case studies, and assessments aligned with industry standards and specialty requirements.
• Assess trainee performance through examinations, mock coding exercises, and structured feedback sessions.
• Stay current with updates to coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Mentor and guide trainees in preparation for professional certification exams such as CPC, CCS, COC, CIC, etc.
• Work closely with management to ensure training outcomes meet organizational and industry expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Medical, Paramedical, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, COC, CIC preferred).
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on medical coding experience, with at least 12 years of training or teaching experience.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
• Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
