QA Lead, Coding & Documentation
Run the independent QA program that keeps our coding defensible. You are the check on the work, not part of the production line.
The role
What this job actually is
An active coding certification is mandatory for this role: AAPC (CPC, COC, CIC, CPMA or CRC) or AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT). Certification must be current and maintained.
You own the independent quality check on our coding output. You design the sampling plan, score against a documented rubric, and report accuracy by coder and by specialty. When accuracy drifts you find the cause and drive the correction. Your reporting is what leadership and clients rely on, so it has to be honest and reproducible.
Ownership
What you will own
The QA rubric
Own the scoring methodology and keep it consistent across specialties and reviewers.
Sampling design
Define what gets reviewed and at what rate so results are statistically meaningful.
Accuracy reporting
Report by coder, specialty and client. The number leadership sees must be the real number.
Corrective loops
When a coder or specialty drifts, diagnose the cause and drive targeted retraining.
Audit defense support
Prepare documentation and rationale when a chart is challenged by a payer or client.
Education input
Feed recurring error patterns into the coder education calendar.
Ramp
Your first 90 days
First 30 days
Review the current rubric and sampling design, then re-score a sample to test whether reported accuracy is real.
By day 60
Rubric and sampling documented, baseline accuracy published by specialty.
By day 90
QA cadence running, corrective loops active, error patterns feeding education.
Requirements
What we look for

- Multi-specialty coding knowledge
- Able to give direct, specific feedback that changes behaviour
Bonus
Strong plus, not required
- CPMA or auditing credential
- Experience preparing payer audit responses
- Experience auditing AI-assisted coding output
Accountability
How this role is measured
| Measure | What it means |
|---|---|
| Reported accuracy integrity | Re-score agreement on QA samples. |
| Sampling coverage | Coders and specialties reviewed per cycle. |
| Error pattern closure | Recurring issues eliminated. |
| Audit outcomes | Findings upheld or overturned. |
| Feedback turnaround | Time from review to coach. |
| Education impact | Accuracy movement after training. |
Why ASP-RCM
Why this seat is different
We are senior-led by design. A senior partner is named on accounts and shows up in the work, which is why clients renew and why this role carries real authority rather than a title. Our AI suite is in production, not in a roadmap deck, and our compliance posture is independently audited: SOC 2 Type II with HITRUST, ISO 27001 and HIPAA.
We pay for certifications and run upskilling cohorts, because coding and revenue cycle are crafts that need investment. You will work across Dallas HQ, six US states and Chennai, India, with colleagues who have run these functions at scale.
